Collas Crill’s head of business development is manager of the year

September 2011

Collas Crill's head of business development and marketing is the Chartered Management Institute first Manager of the Year in Guernsey.

Iain Beresford was presented with the award in front of 140 industry peers at a ceremony at the OGH on 22 September 2011.

Iain was shortlisted from a large number of nominations to the first ever CMI Management and Leadership awards.

Iain works with Collas Crill's lawyers and other fee earners to develop and realise business opportunities in the Channel Islands, the UK and internationally. He has a broad commercial background including business and corporate banking, financial markets dealing, B2B marketing and financial advisory, including working as a financial and business management speaker in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

He joined Collas Crill in 2008 in London before moving to Guernsey in 2010. In London, Iain previously worked in senior commercial marketing roles at a City law firm and at News International.

Collas Crill's managing partner in Guernsey, Jason Romer, said: "These brand new awards are designed to identify those who have raised the bar in Guernsey and we are delighted that Iain's achievements have been recognised.

"In the past year alone the significant role he has played in our merger, our rebrand and the opening of our new office in Singapore has enabled Collas Crill to quickly become a leading player in its markets.

"Iain shows exceptional commitment and determination. He's a strategic thinker as well as a diligent implementer and while he has been recognised as a talented manager, he is also an enthusiastic and highly valued member of our wider team.

"That Collas Crill people, our brand and our marketing approach, which focuses directly on clients, are recognised externally is a great accolade for the whole firm. An effective manager works with and through people and so both Iain and his team should be congratulated."

CMI Chairman Susie Andrade said: "Excellence in management is something that all industries need, to position themselves competitively. It's about time we started to celebrate local talent and success."
