Position

Daniel specialises in investment funds and financial services regulation and has extensive transactional experience with a wide range of offshore structures and their financing. Daniel is instructed by both global financial institutions and specialist fund managers and works with a significant number of Jersey’s fund services providers. He acts for the Nordic Capital private equity funds and Close Global Funds. His recent transactions include the establishment of an open-ended emerging markets fixed income securities hedge fund, the establishment of a film financing fund using a Jersey limited partnership and listed corporate feeder and a range of fund restructurings (including the creation of side-pockets) and wind-ups. Daniel is an active member of several industry consultation and steering groups which work closely with government and the Jersey Financial Services Commission in initiating and developing funds policy and regulation and chairs an industry working party in relation to funds regulation.

Trained Freehills, Australia; qualified 1993 Australia, 2005 England and Wales, 2006 Jersey; Macquarie Bank; joined Carey Olsen 2008 and made Of Counsel 2010.
