Position
Nicolas has been a partner since 1990, specialising in commercial and trust litigation, including asset recovery. He has represented States of Jersey committees, foreign government bodies, heads of state, banks and trust companies. He has acted in some of the most high-value, complex and politically sensitive trust and commercial litigation cases. He appeared as counsel for the claimant Gruppo Torras SA in the Esteem Settlement litigation. Qualified as English solicitor 1983; advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey 1988; partner in the firm 1990. Publications: co-author of Jersey section of FT Law & Tax ‘International Tracing of Assets’; a frequent speaker at conferences and publishes articles on related topics, including ‘Discovery against the non-party’, Jersey Law Review.
