Position

Partner in Ogier’s business trust law group. The firm: Ogier offers legal and fiduciary services from BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey and London. Ogier has fiduciary services offices in Bahrain and Ireland, and a representative office in Tokyo. In 2010 Ogier established a Channel Islands practice at its Hong Kong office to offer Guernsey and Jersey legal services to clients in the Asian time zone, in addition to the BVI and Cayman services already on offer there.

Career

Trained Allen & Overy; qualified Guernsey 2003; Hong Kong 1994; England and Wales 1991. Allen & Overy 1989-98; Ozannes 1998-2007; Ogier 2007 to date. Caroline Chan was recruited to Ogier in January 2007 and became at partner of the firm in 2008. She qualified as an English solicitor in 1991 with Allen & Overy and as a Hong Kong solicitor in 1994 while working at the firm’s Hong Kong office. She worked at Allen & Overy until 1998, mainly on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. She then spent nine years at Ozannes, qualifying as a Guernsey advocate in 2003. Caroline has gained wide experience in three jurisdictions in corporate and commercial work, including mergers and acquisitions, stock exchange listings (particularly in relation to the Channel Islands Stock Exchange), investment funds and security and regulatory work.
