Position

Clive Chaplin is the non-executive chairman of the Ogier Group and a member of its audit committee. He was formerly head of the Jersey firm’s business and trust law group. His practice covers general corporate and commercial and investment funds. The firm: in 2008 Ogier opened new offices in Bahrain and Tokyo and launched a new service, Ogier private wealth, which offers the very highest levels of personalised wealth planning for high-net-worth individuals, family businesses and family offices. Ogier now offers legal and fiduciary services from BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey and London. Ogier has fiduciary services offices in Bahrain and Ireland, and a representative office in Tokyo.

Career: Trained Turner Peacock, London; qualified England 1977; solicitor Jersey 1986; partner Ogier 1994. Current public company directorships: The Jersey Electricity Company Limited; Newton Offshore Strategy Fund Limited. He is also a director of several private companies operating in the financial services sector.
