Partner Dispute Resolution


Rachael leads Ogier's Cayman Dispute Resolution team. She has particular expertise in contentious trust matters, fund disputes and restructuring and insolvency. Her practice regularly involves fraud and international asset tracing claims.    

She is a contributing author to International Asset Tracing in Insolvency, Oxford University Press, 2010.


Rachael joined Ogier in 2007 and became a Partner in 2013. Prior to this, Rachael practised at Clyde & Co. in London and at the English Bar.


Rachael is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society and the Bar of England and Wales.


She received her Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence from Oxford University in the United Kingdom in 1998 and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law, London in 1999.

Rachael was admitted in England and Wales in 1999 (non practising) and in 2007 was admitted to the Cayman Islands.

Ogier 'provides sensible pragmatic service, and fields good people to work alongside'. The team is known for its work in restructuring and insolvency; private equity, funds and corporate disputes; and breach of trust claims and administrative applications. It also acts in Companies Law section 238 fair-value disputes; it advised all nine dissenting shareholders of E-Commerce China Dangdang in a petition for payment of fair value of their shares following a buy-out transaction by the majority shareholders. Marc Kish is restructuring and insolvency head for Caribbean and Asia, Rachael Reynolds is dispute resolution head for Caribbean and Asia, and Ulrich Payne is 'hands-on, realistic and sensitive to the equities of cases, while profoundly understanding the local courts and the appeals process'. The managing associates to note are William Jones and Jennifer Fox, the latter rejoining the Cayman office from Walkers BVI, while Shaun Maloney is a key senior associate. Former senior associate Paul Murphy left for an in-house role.

Ogier's Cayman private client and trusts team team is 'responsive, meticulous and knowledgeable'; it has extensive experience in establishing sophisticated structures for succession purposes, asset protection and family governance. Typical work includes advising on Cayman STAR Trusts, charitable and non-charitable purpose trusts, BVI VISTA Trusts and estate planning. Other areas of strength are foundation and private trust companies, offshore relocations and regulatory issues. Giorgio Subiotto heads the firm’s private client and trusts group in Cayman, and Anthony Partridge specialises in non-contentious private trust matters and wealth structuring for institutional trustees and high-net-worth individuals, together with all related regulatory work and cross-border succession matters. Partridge has particular expertise in resealing foreign grants in the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands. Rachael Reynolds' practice regularly involves trust disputes. Fraser Allister is a key senior associate; managing associate Jennifer Fox rejoined the Cayman office from Walkers BVI.
