At the recently announced Citywealth Offshore Awards 2012, Bedell Cristin was named the UK Offshore law Firm of the year.

An international panel of highly respected and experienced practitioners from a range of sectors chose Bedell Cristin as the winner, which was announced during a ceremony at the Landmark Hotel in London on Wednesday 25 January 2012.

The Decision 1. On 23 December 2011 the Royal Court of Jersey delivered a judgment recognising for the first time receivers appointed by the High Court of England and Wales to locate and preserve the assets of a defendant in proceedings pending trial in England in order to strengthen a worldwide Mareva injunction. These receivers were not therefore receivers in an insolvency, nor seeking to enforce security.

We currently have 16 schools registered and would welcome any school that is not included to come and join in the fun. To start them off each school will be given a large propagator / mini greenhouse, seeds, compost and fertilizer, ready to go.This will enable every school to take part whether or not they have an existing vegetable patch or not.

Directors given new guidelines by authors Anthony Dessain and James Campbell

An updated version of the Guidelines for Jersey Directors was launched recently at the a breakfast seminar at the Pomme D'or Hotel. The book, which was first published in 1994 and was last updated in 2003, provides a comprehensive summary of the duties and responsibilities of a director. Commissioned by the Institute of Directors, the guide has been updated by Anthony Dessain and James Campbell.

Nov 21 2008: Awards have been presented to the Jersey trust professionals who achieved the highest marks in this year's Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) professional examinations.

Edward Buckland has become Chairman of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in Jersey. STEP is a prestigious professional body whose aim is to provide members with a local, national and international learning and business network.

Led by Group partner Mark Helyar and lawyer Kate Ovenden in Guernsey, Bedell Cristin has successfully represented specialist fund administrator IPES Group in its sale to the private-equity firm the vendors of RJD Partners for an undisclosed sum. They also advised the new management team on its investment in the enlarged merged group.
