Position

Bruce heads up the City based arm of Bedell Cristin's Jersey law practice and has extensive experience in structuring and advising on a range of investment funds, corporate and finance transactions. Bruce has developed particular expertise advising on the listing of UK REITs on The International Stock Exchange (TISE).

Bedell Cristin¬†recently promoted the highly recommended Tom Davies¬†to partner and Guy Westmacott¬†to managing associate. The ‚Äėknowledgeable and efficient‚Äô team represents clients such as JT Group, Aviva, Danske and Macquarie in significant transactions, contract negotiations, and debt and property portfolio acquisitions and dispositions. Westmacott was part of the team which acted for WisdomTree in its acquisition of ETF Securities‚Äô exchange-traded commodity, currency and leveraged businesses, while practice head Tim Pearce¬†led the Jersey advice to private equity investment firm Leonard Green & Partners with regard to its acquisition of intellectual property management and technology company CPA Global. Also notable is the team‚Äôs work for Claranet with regard to the Jersey law aspects of a refinancing and private equity investment transaction led by Tikehau Capital. The group also acted for CVC in the installation of a scheme facilitating the conversion of treasury schemes from one currency to another, and Bruce Scott¬†assisted Aviva with a number of projects, including the migration of its Jersey fund to a new service provider and the sale of a number of indirect assets, as well as providing ongoing regulatory advice. Bedell Cristin has international offices in Jersey, Guernsey, BVI, Singapore and London. The London office is well known for its assistance with Jersey and Guernsey legal matters in relation to banking and finance deals, corporate and commercial transactions, investment funds, insolvency and restructuring, and regulatory issues. Bruce Scott heads up the City-based arm of the firm's Jersey law practice and has extensive experience in structuring and advising on a range of investment funds as well as corporate and finance transactions. Scott has developed particular expertise advising on the listing of UK REITs on The International Stock Exchange. In 2017, Tom Davies, in the financial services law group, was made partner; Davies has significant experience with private funds and joint ventures. His transactional experience includes the establishment of Jersey structures for holding and acquiring real estate; borrower-side advice for property - and other asset - financings; the sale and purchase of Jersey asset-holding structures; and corporate deals and advisory work. Senior associate Sukhvinder Chana provides specialist Guernsey legal advice; he regularly advises on M&A deals, capital raising and investment funds.
