Position

Partner with over 20 years’ experience specialising in banking and finance. This includes senior in-house roles and working as an external lawyer advising on a wide range of finance related matters. He has hands-on experience of a broad range of banking matters including FSA regulatory issues, consumer credit and other financial services regulations, as well as asset finance (having worked in-house at finance house Lloyds Bowmaker), notably for ships and aircraft, and wider corporate finance, in which he handles transactions of all shapes and sizes.

Career

Career: Spent 16 years as a senior in-house lawyer in various positions, latterly as assistant head of legal services, Lloyds TSB Group Legal, before moving back to private practice in 2003.

Education

Education: Edinburgh University; LLB (Hons); Dip LP, NP, WS, FCIBS. Dual English and Scots law qualified.

    1 What are the main statutes and regulations relating to employment? The main statutes relating to employment are the Portuguese Employment Code (approved by Law 7/2009 of 12 February 2009) and the Regulation of the Employment Code (Law 35/2004 of 29 July 2004) which is still in force notwithstanding the fact that parts have been revoked with the entry into force of the new Employment Code.
