Position
Neil is a partner in the construction team specialising in all aspects of projects work including major projects, energy and PFI/PPP and non-contentious construction advice. Neil has advised on a number of pathfinder projects in the education, wastewater treatment and energy sectors. Neil has advised on over 50 PFI/PPP projects in a wide variety of sectors including education, accommodation, health, defence, social housing, wastewater, transport and energy sectors. On the non-contentious construction side he has advised consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, banks and developers on a large number of both domestic and international projects including sports stadia, shopping centres, business parks, city centre offices and leisure. Neil is dual qualified in English and Scottish law and undertakes projects in both jurisdictions. He spent seven years in house as the legal director of a major architects’ PII insurer. Recent successes include acting for the Concessionaire on the largest district heating and cooling project in Europe, acted for the lender on the refinancing of a police traffic wing PFI project, acted for the developer giving EU procurement advice on the procurement of a new sports stadium in the North West, acted for the contractor on a number of BSF projects and academies across England, acted for the bank carrying out due diligence of the construction documents for a large hotel/mixed use site in South East England, acted for the Concessionaire in a four site key worker health key worker accommodation PPP project and acted for the RSL in a social housing PFI.
