Position

A very experienced employment solicitor and head of the firm’s employment law team, David is an accomplished and strategic litigator accustomed to representing corporates (PLCs and SMEs) and executives. David is renowned for his accessible, pragmatic and considered approach, while being formidable in opposition. David holds particular interests in discrimination, whistleblowing and TUPE and matters in which he has acted include complex disability discrimination (including injury) claims, high value (£500k+) bonus claims and high profile whistleblowing actions. Reported cases include Langton v Secretary of State for Health [2013] All ER (D) 170 (Oct). David counts several PLCs amongst his clients and has particular experience in the property management, recruitment, security and infrastructure sectors. During his career, David has acted for national construction, healthcare and utilties providers and has also advised high profile entrepreneurs on employment matters related to their investments. As well as directing complex litigation, David also fosters long lasting and reciprocal relationships with his clients (including many HR teams) for whom he is the default adviser when help is needed, offering timely and commercial advice on day-to-day employee matters (including drafting and interpretation of contracts and policies, managing absence, performance management, disciplinary, termination and negotiated exits etc) as well as organisational change projects and TUPE related issues.
