Position

Jon Rees is head of the firm’s highly regarded niche spinal injuries practice. Based in Rugby and assisting clients who have suffered serious spinal cord injuries and who live all over the country, he is a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and an experienced litigation specialist. With 18 years’ post qualification experience covering all aspects of personal injury litigation, Jon is renowned for his compassionate professionalism and sensitivity when working with clients who have suffered life changing injuries. Jon is recognised as ‘someone who goes the extra mile’ and for being ‘friendly and approachable’ ‘kind and considerate’. Jon has recently secured some of the highest ever individual PI settlements nationally, one award worth just under £12m and another at £14m. Jon is continuing to carve a national reputation in this field. He was recently a shortlisted finalist for the prestigious Spinal Injuries Association’s Rebuilding Lives Awards in the Excellence in Legal Care category and he and his team have secured several major seven and eight figure compensation awards for spinal cord injured clients in recent years. As head of practice area for personal injury at Brethertons, Jon brings knowledge, skills, expertise and experience to the Brethertons team in areas such as serious injury, clinical and professional negligence, workplace accident and disease litigation, public liability, transport accident claims, and multi-party 'group' litigation. He has high-level working relationships with clinicians and others in the niche field of spinal cord injury, where his work is exclusively focussed.
