Career

Trained at Boys & Maughan and qualified in 1997. Sarah joined Brachers as a junior solicitor in 1998 and became a Partner in 2004. 

Sarah specialises in the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold commercial properties involving conditional contracts, option agreements, promotion agreements and overage/clawback arrangements. 

Sarah is a key partner in providing support to cross-sector clients from agriculture, healthcare, Local Authorities and Councils to private individuals, pension funds and businesses.Many of Sarah’s clients are publicly funded organisations and she is one of the lead contacts for NHS clients, with over a decade’s experience in this industry. 

Her work covers all aspects of property from advising in connection with agricultural tenancies including Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies and Assured Agricultural Holdings especially in relation to advising on the complexities of possession. 

Sarah also advises on easements in respect of utilities for statutory providers and private land owners, compulsory purchase by relevant authorities including many landowners affected by High Speed 1.

Sarah’s work also includes advising on the sale and acquisition of land and buildings, disposal or redevelopment of land and buildings including complex conditional agreements, option agreements subject to planning, grant schemes, promotion agreements and overage arrangements. 

More recently her work has included advising in relation to complex mineral abstraction agreements and royalty linked rental arrangements with large aggregates organisations. 

Sarah currently sits on the Maidstone Economic Business Partnership.
