Nationally and internationally recognised expert in employment law; the divisional managing partner of the firm’s contentious and commercial division and head of the Manchester office. Specialises in all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, being known in particular for his handling of executive/boardroom disputes, corporate reorganisations, the transfer of businesses and industrial relations issues. Has represented clients in a number of leading reported cases. Particular interest in the field of sport, chairing the Rugby Football League’s Contracts Disputes Panel. Also an ACAS-accredited independent arbitrator. Publications: co-author and advisory editor of the Employment Title in ‘Butterworths Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents’; legal editor of ‘Essential Facts Employment’; editor of and contributor to ‘The Lawyers Factbook’, and contributor to ‘Jordan’s Employment Law’.
