Position

Vicky is a partner in the Real Estate department who has experience acting for a range of clients, specialising in institutional investor work. She is account manager for Standard Life Investments, advising in relation to all aspects of its property transactions, including development and funding, sales and acquisitions and management work. Vicky also works with regional developers, including Peel and has recently acted for Manchester City Council in its £1 billion joint venture to regenerate East Manchester

The ‘impressive’ team at Addleshaw Goddard provides ‘excellent service from partner level through to the paralegals’ and is ‘a key choice in Manchester for the top real estate transactions’; Stephen Kinsey continues to advise Bruntwood in relation to the Circle Square development in Manchester; and department head Peter Kershaw acted for Standard Life on the £70.7m acquisition of 33 Foley Street in London’s Fitzrovia, from Kier Property and acted for Corestate Capital Holdings on the £48m purchase of the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool from Royal London. Kershaw also led advice for Hermes Investment Management on the largest ever office pre-let in Leeds for a new regional government hub. Legal directors; Michael Corbett, who is experienced in the retail sector, Lucy Butterworth, Julie Hodkinson, who is experienced in renewable energy projects, railway property and projects specialist Robin Warburton, and Brian Ghatan, who is ‘especially skilled at navigating complex refinancing transactions’, are key members of the department, as are the ‘pragmaticCatherine Fearnhead and Vicky Niescier, who has ‘incredible knowledge and is extremely professional’. The team was significantly bolstered in 2018 by the hire of a six-partner team from Irwin Mitchell, which includes Anita Weightman, (former head of department at Irwin Mitchell), Paul Barnard, Patrick Duffy, real estate litigator Chris Perrin, Tony Weightman and planning lawyer Emily Williams. Colette Withey left the firm to join Ernst & Young.
