Position

Richard is the firm’s National Head of Banking and Divisional Managing Partner of the firm’s Finance and Projects Division. He is also client relationship partner for a number of the firm’s major banking clients. He is particularly well known for his national social housing finance practice and is generally recognised as one of the leading lawyers in the UK acting for lenders in this sector, having handled in excess of £20bn of loan facilities in this sector. He is also well known for his property finance practice and for capital markets, treasury and structured/leveraged finance work. Highlight transactions in the last few years include: the refinancing of Neue Mitte Oberhausen Projektentwicklung Gmbh & Co KG (the owner of one of the largest shopping and leisure centres in Europe) by Deutsche Bank, AG; acting for the funders on the £660m refinancing of The Affinity Homes Group and acting for The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and Barclays Bank plc in connection with the £195m to fund the Liverpool CC LSVT.
