Managing partner/compliance officer for legal practice and head of commercial property department. Dealing with all areas of commercial property and also partnership matters. In particular sales of small to medium-sized businesses, including pubs, hotels, care homes, commercial and retail outlets, professional practices (vets and dentists). Dealing with all aspects of landlord and tenant commercial leases, acting for landlords and tenants. Acting for Break, a charity supporting and helping vulnerable young adults in connection with mergers with other charities, sale and purchase of home for the young adults, advice on all agreements for the purpose of their business, and managing their portfolio of leased charity shops throughout the country. Also dealing with options and leases for energy projects, including solar panel arrays and wind turbine sites. Acting for Genatec Limited, a new company dealing with obtaining sites and planning permissions and other necessary consents for solar and wind projects, advising on and drafting options and transfer of business agreements and leases for these purposes. Also acting for many local land estate owners and farmers diversification schemes and letting of industrial units , and sale of farm businesses, including farm shops and fruit farms.


Trained Stanleys & Simpson, North London (no longer existing, taken over); qualified 1977. Trained in London in City firm. After qualification, moved to Stuchbery Stone in Maidenhead Berkshire as assistant solicitor mainly dealing with company and commercial work but also some general conveyancing. In 1984 moved to Norfolk acting as a locum for a while and then joined Fosters in Norwich as an assistant solicitor in 1994 becoming a partner in about 1998 and with the position of head of private client, residential and commercial conveyancing. Left in 2006 for current firm, Butcher Andrews. Joined as a salaried partner, became an equity partner in 2007 and managing partner in 2010.

Butcher Andrews acts for many local farmers and landowners around Fakenham and Holt, and further afield in East Anglia, in property sales, farm tenancies and diversification projects. Managing partner and commercial property specialist Anne Kirby advises on agricultural property matters including leasehold issues, green energy projects such as the leasing of land for wind turbine and solar park developments, and commercial lettings. She also advises on farming partnerships, wayleaves, shooting and sporting leases. Head of property Chris Hoxley also plays a key role in the practice and is best-known for diversification and farm tenancy matters. The firm's highlights from 2017 included acting for the Rutterford farming family in the sale of land for diversification, and assisting the Duncan family partnership on the sale of land for development.
