Position

Allan has extensive experience of substantial and often high profile, media sensitive commercial litigation for public and private sector clients, particularly on contractual disputes, judicial reviews and procurement matters. He has been seconded to the Department of Health’s commercial contracts management unit in London and has acted for government departments in both England and Wales, as well as operating at senior and Board level for public and private sector clients alike. He has defended a number of significant claims for judicial review and has dealt with claims arising from the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations brought before the Information Tribunal. Allan is a qualified mediator and has used that process successfully on many occasions to resolve complex and sometimes multi-party disputes. He is a member of the Procurement Lawyers Association and the Legal Practice Course Advisory Board at Cardiff University Law School. He is also an external assessor for Cardiff University Law School’s Expert Witness Accreditation Scheme.
