Within: Insolvency and corporate recovery

According to some, Blake Morgan LLP’s ‘reliable and knowledgeable’ three-lawyer team is ‘the best in the region’. The team, which provides a ‘flexible’, ‘technically excellent and commercially astute service’, handles a broad spectrum of insolvency and corporate restructuring matters in both a contentious and non-contentious setting for a range of clients, including insolvency practitioners (IPs), banks and asset based lenders. Praised for his ‘clear technical knowledge coupled with commercial acumen’, team head Paul Caldicott has an extensive track record in insolvency litigation, including acting on behalf of an office holder in a misfeasance case against a deceased director’s estate for building works that remained unpaid at the point of insolvency. As well as handling corporate insolvency work, the team has grown its presence in the personal insolvency space and continues to offer a fully funded bankruptcy service for a number of local authorities to recover unpaid council tax, national non-domestic rates and over-paid housing benefits.
