Simon specialises in advising entrepreneurial private clients on all issues affecting them as founders an owners of large private businesses. As the head of the firm s corporate department for the last nine years, he has advised family companies and owners of many of the leading private businesses and agricultural businesses on the South Coast. His practice involves all aspects of being an owner – financing, family trusts, succession and tax issues, sale and purchase of companies and businesses, company and partnership law, and management incentivisation. His recent transactional experience includes: advising the founders of Auto Online on securing significant strategic investment from Tesco and the launch of TescoCars.com; the formation of family investment companies; the sale of substantial shareholdings in private companies.

Blake Morgan LLP's succession and tax practice is led by Simon Treherne, who specialises in advising entrepreneurial private clients on business ownership issues. The 'down-to-earth' team offers a broad range of wealth protection services including tax and trust planning,  drafting of wills and corporate advice on business structuring. The group collaborates with the firm's litigation and built environment teams in relation to contentious trusts and probate and landed estate matters. Senior associate Jonathon Sleep assists individuals with mitigating against inheritance tax and care fees, and also advises on safeguards against losing mental capacity.
