Position

Rebecca is a highly experienced employment lawyer, having specialised in the area over 17 years ago, and also a qualified mediator. She has extensive experience of advising employers, across a diverse range of business and public sectors, in a myriad of often complex and sensitive contexts. She also assists senior executives in reviewing and negotiating contracts and exit packages. Rebecca adopts a practical, commercial solutions-focussed approach and works closely with HR teams and in-house lawyer.

Blake Morgan LLP¬†provides ‚Äėvalue for money' and a¬†'practical‚Äô service, led by the head of the firm‚Äôs employment, pensions, benefits and immigration team,¬†William Downing.¬†Clients of the practice include Oxford BioMedica, Brasenose and Worcester Colleges, Oxford, and Keyzone Computer Services. Downing primarily works out of the firm‚Äôs Oxford office, while spending some time in Reading, and assists a number of large Thames Valley-based corporates including Grafton, Cobham and GreenSquare Group. Downing advised Medical Imaging Partnership on the removal of its chief executive alongside the ‚Äėexcellent, confident‚Äô Rajiv Joshi,¬†dealing with sensitive internal issues and liaising with the client‚Äôs private equity investors. Joshi‚Äôs client base ranges from key technology sector clients, including NTT Security and Inmarsat, to clients in the health and social care sectors and local and police authorities. Rebecca Ireland¬†operates alongside Joshi in Reading and focuses her attention on the technology and education sectors. Ireland also assists the Thames Valley commercial and insolvency teams, primarily on TUPE-related issues, and is the firm‚Äôs client relationship partner with the University of Reading. Associates Rhiannon Jenkins¬†and Vicky Schollar¬†are rising stars.
