Position
Advises employers and trustees on all aspects of pensions law, specialising in pensions related disputes. Has particular expertise in internal dispute resolution procedures, Pensions Ombudsman and PPF Ombudsman complaints, specialist court proceedings involving pensions (including court approved compromises, rectification, misrepresentation, breach of contract and professional negligence claims) and disputes in relation to executive pension promises. Also has extensive experience of acting for representative beneficiaries. Reported cases for clients include Foster Wheeler (equalisation), the Alitalia case (on the meaning of the scheme contribution rule) and the Steria booklets case (can companies and trustees be prevented by past practice from making changes to benefit expectations).
Career
Qualified 1986; general commercial litigation experience prior to specialising from 1995 onwards in pensions and financial services related litigation; partner 1996.
