Position
Amber Melville-Brown heads the Withers Media and Reputation Management team and has worked since 1995 with the UK's leading media law firms. Amber specialises in defamation, privacy and reputation management and has a wealth of experience in acting on both sides of the claimant-defendant divide. Having previously acted for major international publishers, broadcasters and photographers on the thorny issue of privacy, her practice now focuses on clients who have some interface, be it welcome or unwanted, with the media, pre and post publication. Amber is aware of the pressures that clients face when experiencing unwelcome media attention, and they commend her for easing the burden in such potentially stressful times. Amber is also a respected author on media matters, as one of the longest standing columnists for the Law Society Gazette and regular contributor to national newspapers and specialist titles. Amber teaches an undergraduate and post graduate media course at the London School of Economics. Amber is the author of the UK Privacy chapter in the Bloomberg News International Libel & Privacy Handbook.
