Position
Partner. Miles handles disputes of all types relating to land with a particular interest in agriculture. Miles is also an expert in the field of contentious trust and probate disputes, proprietary estoppel, agricultural tenancies, resulting and constructive trusts, partnership and banking disputes. Miles was the instructing solicitor in the Court of Appeal cases Jewel v McGowan [2002] 3EGLR 87 (alleged breach of agriculture only user covenant); Secretary of State for Defence v Spencer [2003] 1 WLR 2701 (variation to boundaries not giving rise to a new statutory rent review cycle); Michael & ors v Miller & anor [2004] EGER 151 (exercise of a mortgagee’s power of sale and margin for error in obtaining best price); Uglow v Uglow [2004] WTLR 1 183 (proprietary estoppel); Wormall v Wormall [2004] EWCA Civ 1643 (proprietary estoppel); Drew v Daniel [2005] WTLR 807 (actual and presumed undue influence).
