Career

Jennifer is a Partner in our Contentious Probate and Housing Teams and a member of the firm’s Board of Management.

She advises clients in disputes when someone has died – when there is a Will and when there is an intestacy. Jennifer represents both those who wish to make a claim against an Estate for proper provision and those who are defending such claims. Her work involves challenging the validity of Wills, looking at provision for those who have been left our of a Will and working to ensure the right people benefit from an Estate. She works hard to achieve practical solutions and to look at the best interests of the parties in reaching a resolution.

Jennifer is a member of the Social Housing Law Association and has considerable expertise in housing work, acting for social and private landlords in a range of proceedings to recover possession of properties from tenants and trespassers and has been cited for her advice to clients in the independently researched Legal 500. She regularly acts on behalf of clients seeking a range of outcomes from injunctions to straightforward possession.

The practice acts for private and professional landlords, including local authorities and housing associations, on work ranging from tenancy issues, arrears, demotion and possession instructions to anti-social behaviour orders and high-value acquisitions. Recent highlights include advising EMH Housing and Regeneration on the acquisition of a site in Wellingborough, involving the purchase of the land and a design and build contract, and securing a warrant for eviction on behalf of Spire Homes against tenants on the grounds of breach of a previous suspended possession order relating to the management of the tenancy. Rockingham Forest Housing Association also features on the client roster.
