Career

Jennifer is a Partner in our Contentious Probate and Housing Teams and a member of the firm’s Board of Management.

She advises clients in disputes when someone has died – when there is a Will and when there is an intestacy. Jennifer represents both those who wish to make a claim against an Estate for proper provision and those who are defending such claims. Her work involves challenging the validity of Wills, looking at provision for those who have been left our of a Will and working to ensure the right people benefit from an Estate. She works hard to achieve practical solutions and to look at the best interests of the parties in reaching a resolution.

Jennifer is a member of the Social Housing Law Association and has considerable expertise in housing work, acting for social and private landlords in a range of proceedings to recover possession of properties from tenants and trespassers and has been cited for her advice to clients in the independently researched Legal 500. She regularly acts on behalf of clients seeking a range of outcomes from injunctions to straightforward possession.

Thomas Warrender leads the team at Wilson Browne Commercial Law, which also includes Jennifer Laskey. The group advises private and public sector landlords on tenancy matters, particularly in relation to troublesome tenants. It also handles site acquisitions, and as such, the team assisted East Midlands Housing with its acquisition of a site in Northampton and continues to handle shared ownership sales for the client. Other highlights included handling a repossession claim and an anti-social behaviour injunction against a tenant for Spire Homes (LG). Wellingborough Homes is also a client.
