Career

Kevin is a Partner in our Commercial Litigation Team, Chairman of our Board of Management and leads our Commercial Business Unit, with responsibility for the overall supervision of the Commercial Teams’ work.

Having qualified as a Solicitor in 2001, he advises on complex commercial disputes for local and national clients, with particular emphasis on breach of contract, shareholder and partnership disputes together with professional negligence claims. Kevin acts for several industry sectors, including logistics, print, construction and milling. A skilled negotiator, he can advise on the most appropriate route to resolving disputes – whether by informal negotiation, mediation, arbitration or the court process.

Having lectured on the issue of legal costs Kevin’s team prides itself on being at the forefront of ‘no win no fee’ work for commercial litigation, and if this is not available to you Kevin can also advise on the most cost-efficient means of dealing with the dispute. Fixed cost litigation is also available, for qualifying cases. Litigation can be daunting, and Kevin’s aim is to give clients clear, straightforward, commercial advice.

Kevin is the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice and has overall responsibility for risk management and compliance within the firm and will have responsibility for the firm’s systems and controls.

A past (2016) NLS Solicitor of the year, Kevin is also the current President of the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber represents approximately one third of the counties workforce and provides support, representation and advice to approximately 1000 local businesses. Kevin gives his time freely to the Chamber, and is a strong supporter of local business and all that the Chamber stands for.

Kevin also volunteers as the Enterprise Adviser to Guilsborough School as part of a national initiative to try to provide school children with interaction with to local businesses. With a wide range of clients and contacts, both personal and throughout the partnership, Kevin is ideally placed to identify the right person or company to link with a particular department within the school. Kevin helps employers have a voice in the shaping of required skills in the local market, whilst providing them with free and scalable ways to meet their Corporate Social Responsibility. Kevin is always keen to hear from local businesses, large or small, who may want to get involved.

In 2014, he was proud to be appointed as a non-executive director of the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce, continuing a long association of the firm with the Chamber. The Chamber represents approximately one third of the counties workforce and provides support, representation and advice to approximately 1000 local businesses. Kevin gives his time freely to the Chamber, and is a strong supporter of local business and all that the Chamber stands for.

Kevin has also been selected as the Enterprise Adviser to Guilsborough school. 'Enterprise  Advisers' are part of a national initiative to try to provide school children, especially those 11-18, with exposure to local businesses. With a wide range of clients and contacts, both personal and throughout the partnership, Kevin is ideally placed to identify the right person or company to link with a particular department within the school. Kevin helps employers have a voice in the shaping of required skills in the local market, whilst providing them with free and scalable ways to meet their Corporate Social Responsibility targets. Students in turn benefit by having direct contact with employers, and the opportunities for them to get inspired are invaluable.

Wilson Browne is experienced in shareholder and contractual disputes, professional negligence claims and property litigation. Insolvency-related matters are another area of strength. Traditionally serving a client base from the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire markets, the team has broadened its geographical scope and now assists a national clientele, especially with regard to property disputes. Professional negligence specialist John Gordon took on the role of practice head of the commercial litigation team following former practice head Kevin Rogers' appointment as head of the firm’s overall commercial offering. Recent highlights include acting for NottinghamCar.com in a case concerning vehicle sales and property disputes, and defending a technology sector client against a significant minority shareholder protection claim involving an international component. In an illustration of the practice's logistics sector credentials, the group acted for United Pallet Networks in relation to contractual liabilities disputes. Speedpac is also a client.
