Position
Tim is national head of employment at Weightmans LLP, leading a team of over 80 lawyers. Tim acts for a wide and diverse range of clients from the NHS and Local Authorities to FTSE 100 companies and National Healthcare Regulatory bodies such as the General Medical Council (GMC), General Teaching Council (GTC) and the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE). Tim is the firm’s client partner to many of the firm’s largest commercial clients including The Royal Mail Group, Whitbread Plc, Nuffield Hospitals, Tragus Plc, Pizza Hut (UK), Leicester City Council and the CHRE. Tim has a long history of working on behalf of the NHS, private healthcare bodies and Healthcare Regulators. He has been lead employment partner to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Nuffield Hospitals, BUPA, the George Elliot NHS Trust and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. He has also investigated and presented cases on behalf of the GMC and GTC and is the Firm’s leading advisor to the CHRE, the `super’ Healthcare Regulator brought in to existence as a result of the Shipman Enquiry. Tim is experienced in all areas of employment and professional regulatory work with particular specialist expertise in the DPA, FOIA, whistleblowing, disciplinary issues and discrimination.
