The firm

A.S and Associates is a Global Law Experts Recommended, Bangladeshi law firm based in Dhaka with a branch office at Mymensingh and a networked legal firm at Moulovibazar, Sylhet. The firm is the exclusive Bangladesh member of TAGLaw®, a worldwide alliance of independent law firms over 90 countries. The firm provides a comprehensive range of modernised legal services for both national and international clients.

A.S and Associates was founded by the late Alhaz Abdus Samad, one of the pioneer advocates of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh having experience of over more than 40 years. He was the President of Dhaka Taxes Bar Association and Treasurer of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

Currently, the chamber is managed by four partners and is comprised of a group of young energetic lawyers and seasoned veterans. The firm has 19 lawyers in three different locations and they are supported by a team of admin assistants, court clerks, IT professionals and assistants for Registrar of Joint Stock and Companies and Board of Investment. The firm is specialised in foreign direct investment, corporate and project financing, capital market, corporate affairs and restructuring including merger and acquisition, energy and power sector, banking and financial institution related matters, construction sector, employment law, real estate and land related matters, policy and regulatory compliance, govt, NGO/non-profit and charitable organisations and litigation and arbitration.

The firm has been recognised as the leader in M&A law and has received ‘Securities and Exchange Advisor of the Year – 2013, Bangladesh’, and the ‘Best Corporate Law Firm – Bangladesh 2016’ Award from Acquisition International. Also, recently A.S and Associates has received the ‘Most Outstanding Law Firm of 2016’ Award from Wealth and Finance International. Since 2012, as part of its CSR activities, A.S and Associates has participated in various projects of World Bank including ‘Doing Business Project’.

Each practice area is led by a partner, supported by a dedicated specialised team under a team leader. However, as and when cross functional expertise is required, each practice team is assisted by practice teams from other areas.
