David heads the Gaming and Leisure team and the non-contentious IT and IP practice at Healys.

David is a tri-qualified UK/US/Australian commercial lawyer who focuses on providing legal services relating to supply, licensing and use of online and land based gaming, gambling and betting services, interactive entertainment and the supply of technology goods and services. His IT and IP expertise includes software licensing and development, outsourcing, consulting, maintenance and training, e- and mobile commerce, data protection, hardware procurement and the exploitation of intellectual property rights. He spent several years as an in-house lawyer for multinational software and leisure companies.

He advises online gaming and gambling operators, hotel and casino brands and owners, with respect to regulatory issues and commercial business transactions both domestically and internationally. He has broad experience of hotel and casino operational agreements, including management agreements, franchise agreements and procurement and licence agreements. David is a frequent author and speaker on topics relating to online and land based gaming, gambling and betting.

He also advises software and hardware suppliers and users, outsourcing, consulting and maintenance services suppliers, cellcos, media companies and interactive entertainment companies with respect to regulatory issues and commercial business transactions both domestically and internationally.

He has substantial experience in large and complex software licensing transactions, bespoke software development and services agreements with large corporate multinational companies and government entities. David also acts for brand owners and users of IP rights in their exploitation through licensing, franchising, sponsorship, merchandising and endorsement, particularly in the fashion and sports industries.

Dual US and UK qualified, Schollenberger is assisting the Cyprus government with respect to the setup, governance, forms, policies, procedures and standards of the Cyprus Gaming Commission as regulator and with respect to the development and regulation of the casino.
