LCT Lawyers Proudly Welcomes Mr Tran Van Su - Former Deputy Chief Judge Of The HCMC People's Court

On 17th September 2012, LCT Lawyers announced their newest member Mr. Tran Van Su as Partner to their head office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mr. Su's practice areas include reconciliation and resolution in commercial disputes arising from domestic and cross-border transactions. With several years serving dispute resolution bodies, Mr. Su has extensive experience in handling intellectual property disputes, technology transfers, share and bond buying and selling, company membership disputes and enterprises' bankruptcy notification requests.

Mr. Su worked as Deputy Chief Judge for the HCMC Economic Arbitration for 14 years and the HCMC People's Court for 19 years. During his time serving State organizations, Su has been widely recognized and presented with many prestigious awards including the Third Class Labor Order, the Certificate of Merits by the Prime Minister and several Certificates of Merits by the Ministry of Justice, the People's Supreme Court and the HCMC People's Committee.

In March 2012, LCT Lawyers also welcomed new arrival - Dr Nguyen Thi Kim Vinh as Partner. From 1980 to 1994, Dr. Vinh was an economic arbitrator where she successfully settled many cases in the economic sector. Following this, Vinh worked as a judge for the Economic Court of the HCMC People's Court from 1994-1999 where she settled several disputes. Prior to joining LCT Lawyers, Dr. Vinh was a judge for the Supreme People's Court. Her reputation was further enhanced by her impressive levels of settlement of cases within trade and business, labor, administration, family and marriage and even civil and criminal cases. Dr. Vinh overlooks the litigation team in co-ordination with Mr. Chau Huy Quang - co-founder of LCT Lawyers.

  • The Law On Price by Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, LCT Lawyers

    On 6/20/2012, the National Assembly voted to adopt the Law on Price (the "LOP") in response to the public demand for an effective legal framework to control price manipulation from dominant enterprises such as gasoline, electricity, etc. The law will take effect from 01/01/2013 and repeal Ordinance No. 40/2002/PL-UBTVQH10 dated 26/4/2002 of the National Assembly Standing Committee (the "Ordinance"), which is conceived as outdated and containing certain provisions contravening the WTO’s regulation. This article describes the main features of the law and provides some insight into its potential impacts on the Vietnamese economy.
