Career

Ms. Vu Thi Que co-leads LCT Lawyers since 2013 together with Partner Chau Huy Quang. Lawyer Que heads the Corporate Regulatory, M&A, Project and Infrastructure Practice Group with more than ten years of experience with a wide range of legal practice areas such as contract drafting and negotiation, foreign investment, general commercial matters, corporate regulation, M&A matters, construction, employment matters and environmental law. Lawyer Que holds a bachelor's degree in Civil and Commercial Law from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, where she studied with a full scholarship from the Chinese Government. Lawyer Que started her legal career in Beijing working as an intern at a district court and paralegal for a Chinese state-owned company. She subsequently served as a Senior Associate at Baker & McKenzie, Ho Chi Minh City, and as the Head of the Chinese Desk at Gide Loyrette Nouel, where she successfully advised prominent clients from the United States, Europe and Asia. Before joining LCT Lawyers, Lawyer Que was Head of Legal Affairs & Corporate Compliance for Bayer Vietnam. In this position, Ms. Que provided practical guidance and solutions to various legal and corporate compliance issues relating to the core businesses of the company, including consumer care, healthcare, veterinary care, agribusiness and material science. During her term at Bayer, Lawyer Que was also a Member of the Corporate Business Services Management Team. Recently Lawyer Que received the honour of being asked to serve as a visiting professor of the Law Faculty of Dong-A University in Busan, Korea. She is also an author of a number of Law Journal articles published in China and Korea.

    On 6/20/2012, the National Assembly voted to adopt the Law on Price (the "LOP") in response to the public demand for an effective legal framework to control price manipulation from dominant enterprises such as gasoline, electricity, etc. The law will take effect from 01/01/2013 and repeal Ordinance No. 40/2002/PL-UBTVQH10 dated 26/4/2002 of the National Assembly Standing Committee (the "Ordinance"), which is conceived as outdated and containing certain provisions contravening the WTO’s regulation. This article describes the main features of the law and provides some insight into its potential impacts on the Vietnamese economy.
