Employment law.

Position

Partner and head of the employment law. Gary advises and represents a number of high profile clients locally and nationwide. Gary is a keen advocate and he represents his clients at all hearings up to and including appeals before the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Gary acted for the respondent who was a Reverend involved in an ecclesiastical dispute. In this case, the Parish Council raised numerous concerns and allegations about the Reverend’s conduct. Gary Tait was able to successfully represent the respondent and it was held by the Bishop’s Disciplinary Tribunal that there was no case to answer. Gary represented a multinational building organisation. The claimant brought complaints to the Tribunal alleging unlawful deduction of wages. The Employment Tribunal found that it was clear from the terms of the contract between the claimant and the respondent and the manner in which they carried out their work, that they would have to substitute their responsibilities under it and agreed with Gary Tait that the claimants were neither workers nor employees and therefore that the Tribunal had no jurisdiction to hear their claim.
