Heads up BTO’s clinical defence team along with Laura Donald. Specialises in acting on behalf of health professionals in regulatory matters, and has been involved in representing professionals in complaints to the General Medical Council, General Dental Council and General Chiropractic Council. Douglas has recently represented individual clinicians at complex Public Inquiries. For over 30 years, Douglas has acted on behalf of doctors, dentists, nurses and other health professionals in Fatal Accident Inquiries and actions of damages in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts. Douglas’s achievements include: representing a number of clinicians at Fatal Accident Inquiries and acting for medical and dental practitioners in defending complaints against them to the General Medical and General Dental Council.
