Singhania & Co was established in 1969 by Mr DC Singhania, a veteran of the Indian legal industry with vast experience of over four decades in commercial laws, arbitration (both national and international) and litigation. Areas of practice

Corporate and commercial: its team consistently advises clients on laws related to: advisory services/legal opinion on issues related to SEBI, company law, foreign exchange laws, consortium formation, legal restructurings, and other corporate laws; shareholding patterns, drafting and vetting of shareholding and JV agreements; liasoning with registrar of companies, company law board, Reserve Bank of India, SEBI; and undertaking statutory and regulatory compliances on behalf of clients.

Its team of corporate law experts regularly counsel both public and private companies in matters and other issues that they encounter in their daily business.

Arbitration and dispute resolution: its team of lawyers regularly provide the following dispute resolution services: mediation and conciliation; domestic and international arbitration; enforcement of awards in India; and enforcement of awards outside India.

Energy: it provides the following services on energy laws to its clients: power purchase agreement; advice relating to development, construction, operation and maintenance, transfer and termination; advice on private participation construction contracts; advice and negotiating financing and related documentation; risk management; sponsor support guarantee; supply and off-take contracts; production contracts; and advice on supply of LNG.

Intellectual property: its IP team services the clients on the following: registration renewal of trade/service marks, copyrights, patents and designs; initial investigations into potential patentability of inventions; license agreements; merchandising agreements; domain name disputes; infringement; and counterfeit product investigation/seizure.

Mergers and acquisitions: M&A; conducting due-diligence; managing negotiations; preparation and finalisation of agreements; liaising with requisite authorities for necessary permissions; execution and completion of the transaction; and advice relating to the Takeover Code.
