Career

Prior to joining Llinks, Dr. Pan has practiced law in China and in the U.S. over 17 years. He accumulated an in-depth knowledge on Chinese and international business culture and legal systems. Dr. Pan has once worked in two well-known Chinese law firms, and most recently worked for a Fortune 500 Company as its Deputy General Counsel. Dr. Pan specializes in representing Chinese and foreign investors in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, foreign direct investment, strategic alliance, PRC companies’ outbound investment, cross-border transactions, technology licensing, franchising and bulk sales. Besides European or U.S. based MNCs, he has also advised a wide variety of Chinese SOEs and private clients. Dr. Pan has considerable experience counseling start-ups, transition or well-established businesses. The clients that he represented spread over various industries, including investment, energy, auto, financial institutions, chemical, retail and consumer pharmaceutical, medical, food, education, tourism, sports and entertainment, manufacturing, real estate, hi-tech and telecom.

Dr. Pan has been highly recognized by clients particularly with regard to his practical and constructive advice in structuring complex transactions, the efficient and effective handling of voluminous transaction documents, his full competence in painstaking negotiations in English, and the provision of value-added services to both Chinese and foreign clients in cross-border business matters.

Based on his thorough understanding on business operations, Dr. Pan also specializes in providing clients with practical solution-oriented services in the compliance areas of anti-corruption, cyber security and data, antitrust. He has advised well-known pharmaceutical, retail and manufacture businesses in adopting, adapting and implementing anti-bribery, data and privacy, antitrust compliance programs in China, internal training, internal and external investigation, crisis management, and third party relationship management tactics.

Dr. Pan obtained his LL.M from Harvard Law School, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Pan was admitted to practice law in China in 2002. He is also admitted in New York State, USA. Dr. Pan currently serves as a member of the China Energy Law Society.
