Position
Richard plays a key role within the private client department, heading up the ultra-high-net-worth side of the business. He has extensive experience in tax, succession, trusts and asset protection. Over the last 12 months he has been focusing his attention on providing advice on complex tax structures to ultra-high-net-worth clients in the UK and offshore. Richard has made significant contributions to professional bodies, lobby groups and think tanks on the technical failings of proposed tax legislation. He lectures regularly on the circuit.
Career
Worked in the offshore tax team of City lawyers Lawrence Graham for five years, specialising in providing advice on the offshore anti-avoidance legislation; moved to Stevens and ?Bolton LLP in 2003 where he became a partner advising on both ?UK and international tax planning; joined Thomas Eggar LLP as ?a partner in March 2008, and became head of private client in ?May 2010.
