Position
John’s practice focuses on shipping and international trade and commodities. He has handled a wide range of charter party, bill of lading and contract of affreightment disputes including claims for cargo damage arising out of unseaworthiness, contamination, unsafe port, dangerous cargo, demurrage and detention claims, off-hire disputes, withdrawal and general average. He has advised a number of ship owners, charterers and cargo interests, as well as the major P&I and defence clubs. John also advises on international sale contract disputes involving a wide range of commodities and has extensive experience in both High Court litigation and international arbitration, including ICC and trade arbitrations.
