Career

With over ten years’ experience in fund formation and asset management-related
practice, Ms. Zhou focuses on the formation and operation of various types of RMB
funds, including venture capital funds, private equity funds, M&A funds, film and
entertainment funds, sports funds, infrastructure funds and funds of funds. Ms. Zhou
is also experienced in representing LPs of various types (including insurance companies,
government funds, and funds of funds) in their investments in funds. In addition, Ms.
Zhou is experienced in private fund investments, corporate financings and general
corporate matters.
Before joining Han Kun, Ms. Zhou worked at two leading law firms in China.

Han Kun Law Offices regularly assists a large number of venture capital and private equity funds with fund formation matters. The team advised Everbright Holdings on forming blind-pool and special purpose vehicle RMB funds; it also assisted securities firm CITIC GoldStone with forming ten industry-focused funds, including the TMT, healthcare and finance sectors. Other highlights include advising Baidu Capital as fund counsel, which teamed up with China Life Insurance to launch a RMB14bn investment fund to back companies in the mobile internet, artificial intelligence and FinTech sectors. James Wang is highly rated for the design and implementation of fund and asset management products; Evan Zhang advises on the formation, operation, project investment and management of domestic and offshore private investment funds. Other key advisers include Kelvin Gao, Lin Zhou, who joined from Haiwen & Partners, Yin Ge, formerly of Clifford Chance LLP, and Huaying Qi, who was hired from Cooley LLP.
