Arbitration appeals court reconfirms Goltsblat BLP lawyers’ rates and awards costs
As we noted previously, in May 2012, a Moscow Arbitration Court Ruling granted full cost recovery for a Goltsblat BLP client, against ZAO Uralsib Insurance Group, in a case involving recovery of insurance indemnity.
In particular, the May court decision cited Goltsblat BLP legal fees as not being excessive and added that time spent servicing the case was objectively not overstated.
On re-examining the case, on appeal by ZAO Uralsib Insurance Group, the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeals reaffirmed that the Goltsblat BLP legal fees were justified and, in dismissing the insurance company’s appeal, ordered it to pay court costs.
The case will facilitate future the possibility of legal consultant costs being awarded in other future cases and underlines that Goltsblat BLP rates are reasonable and justified.
