Position

Liesl advises on all areas of international tax, including the European treaties, directives and double taxation conventions in relation to direct tax and VAT. As a solicitor and advocate, she has extensive experience in contentious tax matters and tax litigation at Tribunal, the higher courts and European Court of Justice. Liesl works closely with the firm’s private client and trusts, VAT, corporate tax and EU and competition law teams on areas of international tax and EU law. She advises multinationals, corporations and high-net-worth individuals. Liesl has advised on group litigation cases, in which UK taxation provisions are challenged, in particular the Franked Investment Income GLO which was successful in the ECJ and the High Court.
