The largest litigation-only law firm in the UK is traditionally known for claimant matters, but it is increasingly being instructed for defence work. The practice also benefits from the firm's¬†civil fraud practice, which is often involved in disputes over complex financial instruments and structures. It acted for the liquidators of Kaupthing Bank in relation to a ‚ā¨500m claim against Deutsche Bank, which arose from the sale of complex banking derivatives.¬†Clive Zietman¬†is a go-to lawyer in London for large-scale litigation against banks. Also highly rated are¬†Sean Upson,¬†Keith Thomas,¬†David Hughes,¬†¬†¬†Marc Jones, Fiona Gillett, Paul Brehony¬†and¬†Ian Gatt QC, along with Lucy Ward¬†and Laura Jenkins.
