Position

Partner in construction department. Recognised in ‚ÄėChambers Legal Directory‚Äô as a leader in his field. Acts primarily for consultants and their insurers in a wide range of claims, including large-scale professional liability claims in the TCC and in adjudications. Regularly adjudicates fee claims and advises on consultants‚Äô appointment issues. Advises on the RIBA and ACE helplines and is an accredited RIBA CPD provider. He advised the original structural and transport engineers throughout the substantial Westfield White City project. Also acts for developers and contractors and their insurers. Reported cases include: Edmond Stern Settlement v Levy [2007] and [2009]; successfully resisted enforcement of an adjudication award in this leading case on natural justice issues); Dean & Dyball v Kenneth Grubb Associates [2003]; settled quantum on behalf of the M&E services engineers in the long-running Royal Brompton Hospital case; resisted a substantial relational economic loss claim in London Waste Limited v AMEC Utilities Ltd [1997] 83 BLR 136; had key responsibilities as part of the legal team acting for the developer in the South Australian Remm litigation (1990) and had the conduct of a successful appeal to the High Court of Australia in O‚ÄôSullivan v Lunnon [1986].
