Position
Denise is a partner in the corporate risks team and specialises in the defence of health and safety and environmental prosecutions. Together with other members of the team, she provides a rapid response service for clients faced with onsite health and safety emergencies and regulatory investigations. She also advises clients in respects of their compliance with health and safety and environmental duties and obligations. Her practice as a regulatory lawyer includes extensive experience in environmental law. She has frequently advised clients in relation to waste management and pesticide controls. In addition, Denise offers guidance on environmental regulatory compliance, risk transfer and environmental due diligence, and she has defended a significant number of criminal cases that resulted in changes in the UK enforcement regime. In addition to environmental law, she is instructed to deal with fatal accident investigations and prosecutions in pursuance to the Corporate Manslaughter Act, providing representation at PACE interviews, Coroner’s Inquests and at the Crown Court trial.
