What do you see as the main points that differentiate JTJB International Lawyers from your competitors?

Even though we consider ourselves as a medium-sized law firm, we have in-depth knowledge and understand both legal and business concept to support and achieve our clients’ objectives and needs with a timely and cost-effective manner. Our Firm extensively provide a wide spectrum of legal and business services, including without limitation to Commercial & Dispute Resolution, Corporate M&A, Real Estate, Infrastructure Project, Employment and in particularly Maritime & Transportation. On top of that, our team members comprise with skilled and experienced professionals that allows us to take on broad type of business and legal matters, but maintain high quality of services.

We have also expanded our network by coordinating with our business partners which are in difference professional area of services, e.g. financial consultant firm, accounting, and auditing firm, etc. We are One-Stop-Service for international business and legal services.

Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

Due to the economic situation in Thailand is picking up, we are strongly of the view that that, in the next 12 years, corporate M&A and infrastructure project section will be the growth area in Thailand. The main reason is that the government authorities, including the Board of Investment of Thailand (“BOI”) and the Public- Private Partnerships (“PPP”), are promoting and creating attractive investment policies (both tax and non-tax benefits) to tackle more the foreign investors to establish and/or expend their businesses in Thailand.

What's the main change you've made in the firm that will benefit clients?

Our Firm have been aggressively expanding our networks and public relationship by coordinating with other professions as our strategic partnerships. Therefore, not only the clients will receive the high quality of legal services, they will also explore other business opportunities, extend their networks from both private and public sectors.

Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

IT has driven the significant changes in the way we interact with our clients, especially the long-distance communicate with our international clients which are now a lot more convenience and faster than the past. Furthermore, the technology is beginning to change our legal process and system with the purpose of reducing the administrative work and create more productivity. For instance, the electronic submission of the Court and arbitration process in Thailand. Therefore, our legal and governmental process will inevitably be changed in the near future and we will keep developing ourselves to keep up with such changes.

Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

As per our above answer, we are not only the legal adviser or lawyer to client but we can extensively support our client to find the best solution on their business aim. For example, after we assisted the client in establishing their company, we then further connected them with other business operators through our internal networking event so that they could expand their connection and business in the same time.

Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms - where do you see the firm in three years’ time?

We value the stability and strategic direction of our Firm as much the clients do. Our Firm are strategizing ourselves in three years as the One-Stop-Service for business and legal services for international clients. We therefore see ourselves in three years as a new-generation law firm, which provide beyond typical legal service but create business opportunities and networks for clients. Nevertheless, our legal services provided to client will be strictly maintained as the professional level.
