Work Department

Charities and not-for-profit, real estate and construction; property litigation.

Robert specialises in commercial and residential property and landlord and tenant litigation and dispute resolution, including property-related professional negligence. His matters include possession claims for commercial and residential premises and those relating to disrepair and other breaches, easements, forfeiture, statutory consultation and other service charge issues and the exercise of break options. He acts for a range of clients, including institutional funds, landed estates, charities, developers, property companies, corporate occupiers and individuals. Robert works hard to achieve the desired results for clients, whether by assisting them avoid or defend claims, or by pursing action with determination and to court or to the tribunal should this be appropriate. He keeps the benefits of alternatives to litigation, such as mediation, closely in mind, together with the importance of ensuring all advice and action is cost-effective. Robert and his team work alongside certain longstanding clients and assist them and their other advisers in looking after not only high-value and significant cases, but also the many and varied day-to-day issues that arise in this often complex area of law and practice. He possesses a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses, properties and objectives, which is vital to giving relevant and effective advice.
