Shoosmiths LLP has 'an exceptionally talented team brilliantly running claims of the utmost complexity and severity'. Phil Barnes leads the team and recently advised a young dental nurse who suffered a career-ending injury to her dominant hand and acted for a family of four children who lost their mother allegedly though a delayed cancer diagnosis.  Nick Tubb is also a key figure and assisted an elderly woman who suffered a fracture on her leg while being treated at hospital. Kashmir Uppal regularly acts for claimants on birth injuries and Richard Follis is an expert in high-profile inquests. Senior associate Richard Bannister acted for a widow whose husband showed symptoms of acute coronary syndrome and was not placed on an urgent waiting list that would have prevented his death. Senior associate Sarah Corser is an expert in brain injury claims. Other notable names include senior associates Victoria Blankstone and Michael Burrell.
