Career

Kunal is experienced in the areas of mergers and de-mergers including cross border mergers, acquisitions, private equity transactions, general corporate advisory as well as corporate litigation matters.

Kunal has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating transaction documents including share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements, joint venture agreements, business transfer agreements, etc. Kunal has also advised clients on foreign direct investment structures and entry level strategies as well as several legal and regulatory issues particularly in relation to the Companies Act, 2013.

Kunal also advises on competition related matters including merger control filings with the Competition Commission of India.

Kunal is an avid writer and has published several articles in leading corporate law journals and business newspapers. In his previous employments, Kunal has worked at AZB & Partners for almost 7 years and at Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. for almost 3 years.

The competition practice at Dua Associates was instructed by the Dow Chemical Company to assist with merger control matters relating to its combination with E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company. In another work highlight, the team successfully defended Power Grid Corporation of India Limited in allegations of abuse of dominance. Robin David led a team which acted for the CCI in relation to allegations of cartelisation by suppliers of fans to the Indian Railways. This matter involved issues of leniency following a reduction in penalty imposed on one supplier followings its disclosure regarding existence of the cartel. Shashivansh BahadurSita Khosla and senior partner Kunal Mehra are key names to note.
