Career
Do Young Kim is an attorney in the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, Insolvency and Restructuring Practice Group and Foreign Direct Investment Practice Group. After his two years of distinguished service as a judge at Seoul District Court, Mr. Kim joined the firm in 1997 and gained extensive experience in corporate restructurings through various insolvency and workout proceedings. In the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis, he advised foreign investors in a number of complex and substantial M&A transactions in Korea. Mr. Kim also advised Korean companies in their cross-border litigations and represented foreign companies facing tax, regulatory and criminal investigations, and litigations in Korea. As a leading corporate/M&A attorney at the firm, Mr. Kim was invited on several occasions to give classroom lectures at the College of Law of Seoul National University and the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea.
