In Beijing, Nicolas Groffman acted for CSIRO on its partnering with China United Coalbed Methane Corporation on a joint demonstration project that will store 2000 tonnes of carbon dioxide underground in the Shanxi Province and extract methane for use as an energy source. Also in Beijing, David Olsson advised a provider of LNG vehicle and storage tanks on a proposed joint venture in Heilongjiang, and chief representative of the Beijing office John Shi assisted Sinochem with the acquisition of multi-national oil company with assets in the UK, Africa and Australia.
