Outbound investment specialist Annie Wu acted as the PRC counsel for Guoxin Guotong Fund in its acquisition of a one-third equity interest in Redexis Gas and assisted a UK company with an investment in its mining asset by a wholly-owned subsidiary of a Chinese public listed company. Xiaodong Zheng acted for Xuanhua Construction Machinery on the $811m acquisition of Smart Union Resources (Hong Kong), which owns a mining company in South Africa. Jincheng Tongda & Neal advises international and domestic clients in cross-border disputes at foreign and local courts, as well as various arbitration tribunals. Members of its team also act as arbitrators for CIETAC, Beijing Arbitration Committee and other regional and local PRC arbitral organisations. The team is particularly active in IP litigation, and litigator Yong Wang has expertise in copyright and trade mark infringement, unfair competition and trade secret infringement. Of particular note, department head Feng Liang acted for Beijing GSafety Technology (a group comprising numerous subsidiaries operating under various internal regulations) in connection with the update and coordination of its employment regulations. Liang also advised China Poly Construction Group on the layoff and relocation of multiple employees. Jincheng Tongda & Neal is 'a reputable firm' in trade remedy and WTO litigation, and is one of only a few firms retained by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) to advise on bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations. Chen Yang heads the department, which has been busy advising domestic manufacturers and exporters across a variety of sectors on trade remedy investigations initiated by the US International Trade Commission (USITC) and US Department of Commerce (USDOC). Of particular note, Yang and Zheng Xu represented the China Rubber Industry Association and MOFCOM (on behalf of the country's entire bus and truck tire industry) in a dispute initiated by USITC concerning over $1bn of truck and bus tire exports from China; USITC issued a determination of no injury. Further, the team has handled a number of major US-led anti-dumping investigations in the steel industry, and has also recently represented domestic clients in trade remedy cases initiated by Vietnam, Pakistan, India and Brazil.
